Meet Tina, Tina has fostered for over 6 years with her teenage children.

Here’s Tina’s story....

Hi, my name is Tina, I'm a single mother of 2 teens.

In a previous life I ran a B&B in sunny Southend. We have now been a foster family for 7 years and it's an amazing journey!

My children pestered me for a couple years to apply to foster but I didn't think I could as I was a single mum.  When we saw adverts saying they accept a variety of people, we thought we'd give it a go and hey presto..... a year later we got our first placement.

 We were super excited and nervous as we wanted everything to be perfect for the little ones arrival.  The joy we felt to be helping was indescribable and completely heart-warming.

Our biggest challenge - not had it yet - we rise to the occasion and always look for the positives.

Biggest reward - Helping a child find their smile ....

“If I could offer any advice it would be to keep a sense of humour and give your heart to them. Don't worry about the bureaucracy, just be their champion and support them to achieve their goals.”
